Joe Kilna MacKenzie is the founder of Clann An Drumma and his unique style of drumming and percussion has thrilled audiences across the globe. Having spearheaded the band’s invasion of the planet, he has led Clann An Drumma on successful tours of the U.S.A, Europe and the Far East. No stranger to the world of Film and Tv himself, he has been involved in countless productions as a close combat / stunt performer. His song 'Sgt. Mackenzie', a heartfelt tribute to his great grandfather who fell in World War I, has become an anthem for many and was indeed used to great effect in Mel Gibson’s blockbuster movie 'We were Soldiers' and has topped charts in the US. 'The response to Sgt MacKenzie has been overwhelming', says Joe taking a break from recording what will be come Clann An Drumma’s 6th album, It’s very humbling to hear stories of how the song has moved, touched and inspired people all over the world and I must thank Randall Wallace for his inspiration and help So, what's next for Clann An Drumma? The new lineup has the talent and potential to take up the banner and carry it forward I’ve also a great technical crew behind the band now – Onwards and Upwards my friends, keep it tribal!

Sadly Joe Kilna Mackenzie passed away on the 28th of April 2009. His memory will live on through Clann An Drumma
